We had our annual Academic Breakfast this year on 25 August, 2015. The Academic Breakfast is an event wherein we – as the committee members – invite university staff members to sit and chat while enjoying breakfast. It is a chance for us to explain to them who we are, what we do and how they can get involved. This year, we held this event in our very own Pearson and Murphy’s cafe at RMIT (they have super awesome food and their venue is really cool).
Despite the very early start, we still had a good turnout. Everyone got their complementary coffees before the session started. The morning started with a quick introduction by our chapter president, Xiyi, recapping all the events we’ve done so far this year. We’ve got pictures on a slideshow in the cafe to show how each event went. After that, our Academics and Community Service officer, Natasha, explained about one of our next upcoming events, the Future of Leadership. Here she called out to all staff members to get involved in this event (and it will be one of the largest event we have, follow us on Facebook for updates!).
At the end, food was served and we all had a great talk. We look forward to work together more with RMIT staff in our future events.
Thanks to Felycia for working together with me to organize this event, and our committee members, Xiyi, Natasha, Chanel, Leona, Bronte, Andrew, Rachana for attending and helping out on the day.
