This year our chapter was honored to organise this year’s Race Against Depression, which is on for the 11th time.
The Saturday of 25th of June was a truly extraordinary day: 18 teams were united under a noble cause in the #raceagainstdepression (RAD) event. The cause was to raise the awareness about depression and help to gather money for Lifeline Australia, the “Telephone Line Crisis Support”, which has saved many young lives over past years.
Teams were eagerly solving clues to find the 8 pit stops around Melbourne CBD and confidently overcoming challenges that were in each stop. The atmosphere was wonderful! It was great to observe team members to bond, interact with other teams and discover Melbourne while having fun.
After the race teams were invited to have lunch. It was a great opportunity to socialize, talk about clues and challenges of the race and share their own experiences with new friends.
The result of the race are as follows:
The average score was around 59. The maximum score was 85 which were received by teams Tiffolette and Nucleotide.
7 out of 18, about 39% of teams also successfully overcome the bonus challenge and found the eskimo.
Each teams’ total points and positions are listed below.
In the end, we want to thank our splendid sponsors: Xynergy, Pancake Parlour Bourke Street Mall, Baker’s Delight Hawthorn, Simone Perelé Moorrabbin, Lifestyle Portraits and all our fantastic volunteers! With everyone’s collaboration, more than $2,000 was raised. This is an impressive sign that amazing things can happen when people unite for a great cause!
Donations are still welcome! Help us reach our goal 🙂
