Future of Leadership Youth Forum

November 23rd marked one of RMIT Golden Key’s most significant events for 2015. The inaugural Future of Leadership Youth Forum, an initiative designed to generate dialogue between prominent community leaders and students on the importance of leadership in the tertiary and broader community, was held at RMIT’s Swanston Academic Building. Through the forum, the RMIT Golden Key committee sought to empower students to have a platform where they could share their opinions and inspire others to commit to excellence within both their student and professional lives. A dynamic panel of community leaders including Tim Costello (AO), CEO of World Vision, Tony Wheeler (AO) founder of Lonely Planet & Street Artist Rone provided insight and feedback on four topic areas (the future of leadership, community service, work readiness and innovation) generated by RMIT students as well as high school students from the Smith Family & SNAP partnership schools.

Academic Breakfast: Group picture | more on

We had our annual Academic Breakfast this year on 25 August, 2015. The Academic Breakfast is an event wherein we – as the committee members – invite university staff members to sit and chat while enjoying breakfast. It is a chance for us to explain to them who we are, what we do and how they can get involved. This year, we held this event in our very own Pearson and Murphy’s cafe at RMIT (they have super awesome food and their venue is really cool).  Continue reading
